LACERS Board Elects Annie Chao as Board President

Annie Chao has been re-elected as Board President at the July 23 meeting for the term ending July 2025. Additionally, she has been re-elected to serve on the LACERS Board by the Active Members for the term ending June 30, 2029.

LACERS Board Elects Janna Sidley as Vice President

Janna Sidley has been elected as Vice President at the July 23 meeting for the term ending July 2025. She was also re-appointed to serve on the LACERS board by Mayor Bass for the June 30, 2029 term.

LACERS COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 1

The LACERS Board of Administration has approved the maximum allowable Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for eligible LACERS Retired Members and Beneficiaries at 3.0% for Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members and 2.0% for Tier 3 Members. Click here to view more information on the COLA increase and the availability of any banked excess. Retirees and Beneficiaries will receive the increase on their July 31st paycheck.

LACERS APPOINTMENT-BASED SERVICE BEGINS JUNE 3RD

On Monday, June 3, LACERS will begin utilizing an appointment-based system to provide you with the convenience to coordinate getting all your retirement needs addressed on your schedule. There will be two options for appointments: in person, at our headquarters, and virtually, via Zoom. These new options will allow for timely and convenient access to get your questions answered. Appointments aren’t necessary if you drop off documents Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and don’t need to speak to anyone. Please note that our operating hours have changed.

7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

*Please be advised that pre-entry metal detector screening requirements are in place at LACERS’ headquarters, and a current government-issued photo identification or City employee badge is required except when attending public meetings of the LACERS Board of Administration. Parking is not available at the building. Paid parking lots, public transit, and street parking are available nearby.

COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 1

The LACERS Board of Administration has approved the maximum allowable Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for eligible LACERS Retired Members and Beneficiaries at 3.0% for Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members and 2.0% for Tier 3 Members. Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members are City employees who became LACERS Members on or before February 20, 2016. Tier 3 Members are City employees who became LACERS Members on or after February 21, 2016.
