LACERS 2024 WINTER HOLIDAY OBSERVANCE SCHEDULE
In observance of the upcoming winter holidays, the LACERS front desk will be closed for services and appointments, and the 800-phone number will be offline on:

- December 31
LACERS will continue to reply to incoming emails via lacers.services@lacers.org and respond to voicemails during this time.

Medicare Part B Premium for 2025
MEDICARE PART B PREMIUMS FOR 2025
As a reminder, all Retired Members and their dependents who are eligible for Medicare and enrolled in a LACERS plan are required to enroll in Medicare Part B. Retired Members enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B with at least 10 years of Service who are enrolled in a LACERS Senior medical plan or participate in the Medical Premium Reimbursement Program (MPRP) are eligible for a reimbursement of their standard (basic) Medicare Part B premium.

IMPORTANT: THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY HOURS
With the Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaching, please note that the LACERS Front Desk will be closed and the LACERS 800 phone number will not be in service from November 25 through November 27. Members can still reach LACERS for urgent matters either by leaving a voicemail at (800) 779-8328 or by emailing us at lacers.services@lacers.org. These inquiries will be responded to within 24 hours. LACERS will be closed on November 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Please keep these dates in mind and plan ahead if you want to speak with a LACERS representative. We look forward to continuing to assist our Members and wish everyone a wonderful holiday!
LACERS Retired Members Update for November
LACERS OPEN ENROLLMENT ENDS TODAY
Today, November 18 is the last day to make Open Enrollment changes to your LACERS health and dental plans. Open Enrollment changes made by today will become effective on January 1, 2025. Unless you have a qualifying event, the next opportunity to change your LACERS health or dental plan will be next year during the Open Enrollment period for 2026.

There’s still time to make changes to your LACERS coverage for next year! LACERS’ Open Enrollment period runs from October 15 – November 18. It is your annual opportunity to enroll in a health or dental plan, change plans, or add dependents, with changes becoming effective January 1, 2025. Open Enrollment packets were mailed in October and are available online at lacers.org/enrollment.

THINGS TO CONSIDER IF RETIRING EARLY
Members who began working for the City early in their lives/careers may begin to consider taking an early retirement once they find they meet the requirements at lacers.org/eligibility. However, several important points should be considered before taking an early retirement.

LACERS OPEN ENROLLMENT STARTS TODAY!
Beginning today, October 15, 2024, to November 18, 2024, LACERS will accept applications for new enrollments, health plan changes, and addition of eligible dependents. Changes made during this period will become effective on January 1, 2025. If you wish to keep your current LACERS health coverage for 2025, you do not need to take any action. LACERS recommends reviewing the Open Enrollment materials to stay informed of your benefit options and costs.

Join Cabrillo Marine Aquarium staff and become a volunteer where you can become a Docent (Touring, Middle school & High school Summer, Spring Outdoor Program and Aquatic Nursery), Whale Watch Training Program, Education Volunteer, and Aquarist Assistant.
