2022 Recognition

Award for Outstanding Achievement -  The Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System has been honored with two prestigious Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Awards for Annual Financial Reporting.

2019-2022

Award for Outstanding Achievement – LACERS’ inaugural Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) earned the Government Finance Officers Association’s award for Outstanding Achievement for three consecutive years (fiscal years ended 2019-2022). The prestigious PAFR Award program recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government popular reports. To receive this award, a government unit must publish a PAFR, whose contents conform to program standards of creativity, presentation, understandability and reader appeal. The PAFR summarizes and presents key financial information contained in LACERS Annual Financial Report, along with key statistics and facts, in an easy to read and understandable manner that includes multi-year graphs to show annual changes and trends.

2013 – Present

Public Pension Standards Award For Funding and Administration by the Public Pension Coordinating Council, a confederation of National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA), National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS), and the National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR) in recognition of meeting professional standards for plan funding and administration as set forth in the Public Pension Standards.

2013 Recognition

The Pew Charitable Trusts commended LACERS in its 2013 report, A Widening Gap in Cities — Shortfalls in Funding for Pensions and Retiree Health Care. LACERS was recognized as a “bright spot” for prefunding retiree health care.

2011

The Quality and Productivity Award by the City of Los Angeles Quality and Productivity Commission for successful participation in the Federal Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP), resulting in reimbursements totaling $5.9 million for claims associated with early retiree medical plans.
