LACERS Well Move Well to Be Well Mobility Program


Whether it be chasing around our grandkids, taking a leisurely stroll along the beach, or simply tying our shoes, we all strive to function well in our daily lives and have the ability to do the activities that bring us joy.

This 10-week mobility program beginning Sunday, March 19, 2017, is designed to help Members improve their mobility by conducting initial and follow-up mobility assessments as well as provide opportunities for weekly Stretch and Walk sessions with local LACERS Well Champions.

Mobility and flexibility can be significantly improved through proper stretching and strengthening exercises. When combined with ongoing stretching and balance activities, Members can look forward to an increase in physical mobility, a reduction of stress and pain, and an improvement in overall quality of life.

This program includes:

  • An opportunity to earn a $50 reward card for completing all program requirements
  • Opportunity to earn a full Passport to Health for additional prizes
  • Regionally-based initial and follow-up mobility assessments
  • 10 weeks of regional Stretch and Walk sessions led by local Wellness Champions
  • The LACERS Well Top 10 Stretches guide, a collection of stretches designed to address all major muscle groups
  • A participation log to keep you motivated and on track

How to participate:

  1. Register by completing the fields below.
  2. Select an initial assessment date and region from the choices below.
  3. Select one or more local, weekly Stretch and Walk sessions led by Wellness Champions (not required for program eligibility).
  4. Complete the Top 10 Stretches daily and log your progress for 10 weeks (log available here).
  5. Sign up and attend a follow-up assessment in your area (dates and locations to be determined).
  6. Submit your 10-week stretching log to LACERS Well at the end of the program (deadline is Friday, June 30, 2017).
