Be Mentally Resilient Workshop Registration

Most of us have experienced a challenging situation that at the time may have seemed insurmountable and yet we persevered. But what if we had not or could not adapt? What determines why some people adjust well to life-changing or stressful situations while others struggle to "bounce back?" Join us at the California Endowment Center on Monday, August 28, 2017, as we learn new ways to be mentally buoyant, courageous, and truly happy throughout life's inevitable "ups and downs." This event is open to all LACERS Members, and a guest, but registration is required. Lunch will be served.

Presentations include:

  • Food and Mood: Is There Really a Connection? with Elvira Garay, MPH, MCHES, Kaiser Permanente
  • Resiliency - What It Is and How to Build It with Kristie Holt, MPH, MCHES, CLE, ICCE
  • The Basics of Mindfulness for Self-Care and Stress Management with Marvin Belzer, Ph.D. Associate Director, UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center
