2010 Retired Member Election
April 9th Retiree Election Results in a Run-off
A count of the votes from the April 9, 2010 election to elect a retired Member to the LACERS Board of Administration has resulted in a run-off election since no candidate received a majority of votes cast. The two candidates in the run-off election are Ken Spiker and Shelley Smith, both having received the highest vote counts. The run-off election is scheduled for May 21, 2010.
On May 6, a ballot for the run-off election will be mailed to Retired Members. (For those retiring under ERIP with a retirement effective date of May 8, their ballots will be mailed on May 10.) Beginning May 8, marked ballots may be mailed to be received at the City Clerk’s Election Division Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 21, the day of the run-off election. Voters may also deposit the ballot enclosed in a return envelope in the election box located in the City Clerk’s Election Division Office from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., within seven calendar days preceding the day of the election. Certified election results will be available on June 4, 2010.
The term for the retired Member to serve on the LACERS Board is July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2015.
